LAKEARTS FILM FESTIVAL, In partnership
with New York’s TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL FEATURES
“THE BEST OF TRIBECA”
June 17-19, 2011
at Chautauqua Institution in New York
The 2nd Annual LakeArts Film Festival opens on June 17, 2011, at Chautauqua Institution in Western New York State in
partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival.
Focusing on ”The Best of Tribeca,” The Festival will open on Friday, June 17, with a film premiere of The Bang Bang Club,
at the Chautauqua Cinema at 7:30 p.m. Premiere: $15 Students $10.
A family film event on Saturday, June 18, fat 5:30 p.m. features the award-winning SNOWMEN, the story of a group of small-
town boys on a winter quest to set a Guinness World Record. Through a comedic series of stunts that eventually threaten their
very lives, the boys conquer schoolyard bullies, unite their community, and discover that while fame may be fleeting, true
friendship lasts forever. Fourteen-year-old Star Christian Martyn will introduce the film. Children Free, Adults $10, Chautauqua
Cinema.
Internationally-recognized film composer Miguel Kertsman, of Tribeca’s Flashpoint Media Arts Academy, will present a 2-part
workshop, CREATING MUSIC FOR STAGE, SCREEN AND NEW MEDIA on Saturday, June 18, Lecture/Demonstration, 10:00
AM-1:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 19, Workshop, 10:00 AM- 1:00 p.m. Lenna Hall. Tickets $25 each. Students $15 each.
A Student Filmmakers Special Screening showcases the Arts council of Chautauqua’s 3rd Street
Canvas Project and SUNY’s “Causes Film Festival” on Saturday, June 18 at 2:00
p.m. at the Chautauqua Cinema. Free event.
And, on Sunday, June 19 at 2:30 p.m., David Zinman, the founder of Chautauqua’s
popular Classic Movie series, pays tribute to the career of New York filmmaker, Sidney
Lumet with a special presentation of Lumet’s award-winning film, “12 Angry Men.”
Screened as a special bonus for Festival pass holders. Individual ticket holders are
welcome. The tribute takes place at the Chautauqua Cinema. Tickets $5.

Chautauqua Institution is located between Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, near Lake Erie in Western New York State. It is
accessible via Interstates 90 and 86.
A Festival Pass provides a 3-day admission to the opening night premiere with featured actors, directors, and filmmakers;
screenings of award-winning films; student films; workshops and lectures. Festival Pass $50/Students $40. Tickets are also
available for individual events.
The Festival Ticket office will be open days of festival only, located at Fletcher Music Hall on the Chautauqua Institution
campus.
